Herschell observes worship practices (including Roman and Greek), social details such as clothing and the Turkish slave market (commenting that slavery was still practiced in so-called Christian countries), with descriptions of Biblical sites as he visited them. Good: covers bumped and worn with a chip missing at head of spine, discolored patch on top rear corner, old sticker on spine and po writing on pastedowns (church library), pages lightly tanned, no internal markings.
