Carol Zumbach, Fahrni Family, July 1990, no publisher stated. Tan paper covers with burgundy lettering and shield on front, burgundy plastic comb binding, 4to, 182 pp, many bw photos (photocopy quality). "A compilation of newspaper articles, pictures, excerpts from letters and stories told by relatives." The first portion of the book focuses on the John Fahrni family, who emigrated from Switzerland to America in 1883 (a few 1857 letters are included, transcribed into English) and mostly lived in Monticello, Iowa and Deadwood, South Dakota. Genealogy is mixed with anecdotes and memoirs, including cousins who left the state to marry each other and an article by a soldier wounded in World War I in France. The second part of the book includes other Fahrni families who immigrated to America. The latter part contains correspondence and memoirs of family reunions and trip to Switzerland. Very Good: corners bumped, light scuffmarks and creasing on covers, no markings (erasure on dedication page).
