Detailed impressions of an American photographer in London at the turn of the last century. Green cloth HC, gold-stamped lettering with painted red accents, 8vo (21 cm), plain endpapers, [x] 242 top-gilt pages, 24 photogravure plates including frontispiece, including contemporary photographs of London street scenes and older prints. Photographs include Fleet Street and St. Dunstan's Church, Rotten Row, St. Paul's Cathedral, Westminster Abbey, Horse Guards at Whitehall, Westminster Bridge and Clock Tower, a house-boat on the Thames, a crowd of sightseers (boats) at Henley, the Tower of London, London Bridge, Bow-Bells (St. Mary Le Bow) at Cheapside, Staple Inn at Holborn, Hyde Park, and the Thames; many credited to London Stereoscopic and Photograph Company. Very Good: corners and spine worn, stain mark on top edges, frontispiece loosening, no markings.
