Articles include an 1842 Rocky Mountains expedition (beginning missing), reprints of early 18th-century letters, "Indian Medical Practice," "The Great Fire in New York," "Glimpses of New Zealand," "Crossing the Atlantic" in the steamer Great Western, report from "Association for the Care of Coloured Orphans," "Slave Trade," and many more. Posted 1884 postcard laid in.

Fair: covers worn and stained with spine chipping, title and index pp loose, 4 pp of issue no. 1 missing (other pp numbered out of order), numbers 25 and 31 damaged (loose, with loss), many closed tears, po marking p. 305.
